Meet anthony mechachonis

Legal Career

Anthony attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School (Lansing, MI) and received his law degree.  After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997, Anthony practiced civil law, concentrating on bankruptcy and contract cases.  

Anthony has spent 14 years working for the Office of the State Attorney in Brevard County and continues to proudly serve as an Assistant State Attorney.  Having handled thousands of cases throughout his tenure as a criminal prosecutor, Anthony developed a keen insight into matters involving victim’s rights, police responsibilities, and the application of the law.  As an Assistant State Attorney, Anthony is dedicated to the citizens of Brevard County, helping to preserve public safety while having a positive impact on those touched by the criminal justice system.    

More About Anthony

Anthony is a Navy Veteran who participated in several naval campaigns and was awarded numerous  commendations including Naval Expeditionary and Good Conduct awards. After his service in the Navy, he attended the University of Connecticut. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Anthony worked for the Connecticut Department of Corrections in security and as a correctional treatment officer.

Anthony and his wife chose to settle in Brevard County to raise their family, recognizing and appreciating its unique beauty, excellent schools, and strong sense of community. Their son currently attends the University of Florida in Gainesville and their daughter is a junior in high school. 

In his spare time, Anthony enjoys boating, fishing, and recreational shooting sports. He is a member of a local shooting range and participates in skeet, sporting clay, and steel challenge events.
